After a very trying week at work, it's wonderful to get away for the weekend - this time to Mossy Point on the South Coast.
South Broulee beach |
Sat morning we had a lovely bike ride to Broulee and surrounds and then back to Mossy Point to try out The Muffin Shop. The coffee was good, the brunch not bad but not fabulous either. (Why serve poached eggs on untoasted bread? Wrong. )
Shark Bay is on the left |
M and I spent the afternoon at my new favourite snorkelling spot - Shark Bay. Between North Broulee and South Broulee beaches, I'm pleased to say it didn't live up to its name this afternoon, but it was a great spot for a snorkelling wimp like me - we saw many different kinds of fish, seaweed and even a sting ray - and all within easy reach of shallow water. M even saw a swimming prawn.
oyster catcher, Broulee |
Broulee island is a nature reserve and after our snorkel we took a walk part way round the island. Fantastic rock pools and views out to sea.
