Beechworth to Canberra

A beautiful drive to Beechworth - lovely countryside via Miliwa, where we tasted some lovely cheese and wine.
Then, once in town and accomodation sorted, it was off to the local brewery for a cleansing beer. They also had bikes for loan - pity we weren't in town long enough to take advantage. We plan to visit the town again with our own bikes to try out the rail trail .
The historic cemetary is intriguing. Despite the fact that there were terrible riots on the gold fields nearby in Buckland, the Chinese cemetery was part of the Christian cemetery in Beechworth - how can that be? More investigation is required.

And so sad is the strangers section - people have been buried with no one knowing them, no one paying for a headstone or any other indication of who is below.
