off to the lake

The long weekend - a week ago now - was a good excuse for another trip to the coast. This time M found a good spot on the shores of St Georges Basin. Jervis Bay is such a beautiful and diverse area. There are great beaches and the lake was pretty cool too.

We had a long bike ride, but didn't enjoy any water sports - there was too much water coming from the sky on Sunday and Monday.

We also took a trip to Nowra to check out the HopDog Beerworks. The brewery is tucked behind shops in an industrial estate - not very appealing on the outside, but lovely beer and beermakers within. We received a very warm welcome and a taste and description of each of the beers.

Rather progressively, you can also buy beer by the 'growler' - which they will then refill for half the price. Way to go for the environment!

On the way back we had a tasty lunch in Bungendore at Thymes Thirty Three (behind the Bendigo Bank, if you're looking for it), thanks to a kind recommendation from The Royal Hotel.
