Well, I was hoping to have a photo of Princess Mary to post here. I spent most of the day at the National Library and was planning to walk down the road to see Mary and Fred in the afternoon, as the Crown Princely Couple were (was?) going to be at the National Portrait Gallery. And in the past few weeks I've missed Liz, and then BO. But at the appointed time it was raining heavily and I discovered that my celebrity stalking urges were fairly minimal.
All was wonderful at the library. I love the place. Today I saw the small but lovely Women's Weekly exhibition on Level 4. There is a selection of front covers, expertly chosen. My favourite was one with a model with her face covered by a full face knitted mask - classy. Hopefully you can see it here. The National Library, through its fantastic resource Trove, has most Women's Weekly magazines saved digitally. You can browse the covers collection if you just want to look at pictures. And if you have any old Women's Weekly magazines, check out the NLA's wish list of missing issues.
So far, this is the only celebrity I've seen in Canberra.
Oh, and I have seen Michelle Gratan at the airport.
